I live and work in the great city of Pittsburgh. I’m a reformed super-picky vegetarian come real-food lover through my experiences abroad and in my own kitchen. There was a time when I’d rather go hungry than scramble an egg. There was also a time when I was a lot heavier. I started this blog because I simply LOVE to cook, whether it’s just for me, me and the caveman, or an elaborate dinner party.
I lost the majority of my 60+ pounds using the Warp Speed Fat Loss Loss Diet. It’s a lot of work to do the food prep and the workouts are tougher than they look on paper, but it works and it’s pretty healthy. I cycled the 28-days-on and 1 week off until I was where I wanted to be, but I was down from 195 to 125 in under 10 months. This was kind of my intro to Paleo- the diet itself is grain-free but heavy on dairy. My digestion and energy improved with the exclusion of grains and legumes, but my skin was breaking out constantly. These days I rarely eat dairy, save a little butter and Parmesan here and there, and I’m acne-free.
I’ve been following the Paleo diet for over a year and my health has never been better. I’m no nutrition guru, and I don’t plan to trumpet the benefits of a low-carb, whole foods diet- there are plenty of bloggers who already do a great job of this, so visit my Links page! My recipes are typically gluten, grain, soy, and dairy-free, birthed from my own wild imagination or inspired by one or more of the blogs I follow.
This is my first blog and I’m really excited about it! I plan to start posting regularly as soon as I get my bearings. Comments are always welcome on the blog as well as the Youtube channel.
